Get out of jail with various bonds
Looking for that “get out of jail free” card? Unfortunately for you, these do not exist. But we understand that once you or your family or friend gets in jail, you are going to want to get yourself or them out of jail as soon as possible.
There are three types of ways you can get out of jail and here they are:
1) Bond through court – A bond through court works like this: you pay into the court (about 10 per cent) ad they hold the money. At the end of your case, you will get what remains out of that balance. However, this money is used to help pay fines, court costs and attorney fees.
2) Through a bondsman – Bondsmen will take 10-15% up front to bond you out. Bondsmen are convenient and knowledgeable about what they do. However, they take a large amount of money,
3) Cash-only bond – Missouri Supreme Court recently has allowed the upheld the use of cash-only bails. They require 100% cash. As the seriousness of the offense goes up, so does the cash bail. The first step your retained attorney should do is to try to have the cash-only bail lowered or amended to 10% the the court bond.
