Posted by | As many of you prepare to head out for some fun on the lake this Labor Day weekend, I'd like to take the time to stress the importance being safe and responsible while out boating or participating in other water-related activities. We all know that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is dangerous, not to mention against the law. However, for many people, the guidelines about boating under the influence are a little less clear. We tend to see boating as much more of a relaxed and recreational activity than driving a car. Drinking a few beers on a boat on a warm day can seem pretty harmless. But before you take out that bottle opener, take a minute to learn a little more about the reality of boating under the influence.
